A nice chap downstairs has a very nice example - "R5 EXY".
Now decided that it is a garage must-have -
Works nicely with bonus time next month.
Can you seriously run these things? Far beyond my usual transport - VERY tempted.
What do I need to know from those in the know....
I am keeping the 996.

Can't be any help, though I'm sure some of the lambo crowd will pitch in from their carribean retreats
when they get the chance. Not seen a buyers guide anywhere, but if you want evo articles etc drop me a mail.
Saw my first (graphite grey colour) Murcielago in London a few weeks ago (us Yorkshire men do venture darn sarf' sometimes you know 
), saw it from a distance but heard the 'rolling thunder' first 
IMO it looks alittle more subtle than the Diablo, though the one I saw was in a darker colour.

Actually met the "R5 EXY" chap downstairs who's advice was don't buy one! Reliability issues, hated the drive, said it was the worst £170k he'd ever spent.
I asked about the "bad" drive - he said it was impossible around the west end - ?
He's never used it in Europe, on a track, on a single open road - just for town
....so am saving the pounds.
Also want to keep the 996 so more funding is essential!

Anyone buying a Murcielago for West End driving needs their bumps felt!
Driving anything that doesn't have the name "Routemaster" or "FX4" around the West End is unpleasant (and it's probably no better in those). The roads are crap, the traffic's horrendous and driving standards are abysmal.
All of which makes you wonder how some people's thought processes work

Gearbox, clutch, electrical issues.......
Still totally want one!
Without being rude to your friend, is he a good driver??
I've heard a lot of reports that Lambos are very reliable in the hands of a good driver, but fall apart in the hands of a novice.
Damon's P1 Murcie has been very unreliable as its used by lots of different customers, many of whom won't be experienced drivers.
Then ive heard stories of ultra reliable Murcies. Ask AllanLambo, he knows his Lambos

That's amsuing - the second we walked away I said to Sarah that the car is falling to pieces as he quite obviously cannot drive! At which point he slipped the clutch at 80,000 rpm's

Not really a car for the West End I would say, wouldn't suprise me that he's had the gearbox and clutch troubles.
Definatley a must have for the garage though

I am told WEEK 7 arrival.
We shall see.........NOT happy, especially as I had to pay with the original order, some 4 months ago.

Not wanting to hi-jack the thread but that's outrageous, are they making them specially? I would have thought they'd have some sets in stock 
I'd be interested to hear the views of MurkyLager owners who use their cars properly with regard to the problems the other chap had as I was aware that the Audi influence had ironed out the 'typical' weak spots, namely the clutch.

The fronts are OK.
New model, no stock. They have technical "issues" with the rears!
