Standard Sagaris Stereo?

What is the standard head unit in the 2005 Sagaris. All the ones I have looked at have a Pioneer, but not sure which model. Can anyone help?

Want to know if can be upgraded to i-pod connection.

Alpine is the origonal stereo in the Sagaris and yes it can be upgraded to a 'very' basic ipod connection but they are really expensive as it is such a old unit. You can buy and fit very easily a Alpine stereo with full ipod connection for pretty small money using the existing stereo connection. I have put my ipod and USB connection into the glove box with a hard drive non CD based head unit.

I cannot rememeber the cost but it was low 200's. I changed the rear speakers as well which made a huge difference for about £80.

Head unit swap took about an hour including removing the glove box and routing the cable, speakers about a hour also trying to find the screwing points.

I have a Pioneer CD/radio in mine and fitted an ipod connector myself. TBH I don't use it much anyway - windows down listening to the pops and bangs but it's easy enough to do yourself. I think the adaptor cost me £80 and I only fitted it for the benefit of the missus for a trip to Southern France.

Pioneer were fitted in teh early cars, this was updated to Alpine on later ones.

Not all together true. Mine is an 06 build car and has Pioneer. I guess it depends what they had lying around in the factory at the time.

My 2005 Sagaris has the Pioneer unit.

Edit: Just popped down to the car park. It's the Pioneer DEH-P5600MP if that helps.

Edit2: And according to this link it is "iPod® adapter ready"

Apparently you can use the IP-Bus function and connect one of the adapters as described. Only after basic functionality as the car is for driving not posing!

Mr Orange is sat outside and is the origonal top gear car on your tube - alipine unit in this one, Tim does not think it has ever been changed from the origonal.

Mine is a 57 plate, late car and also a alpine so both sides of the spectrum

The early Pioneer ipod adapter are crap don't waste your money.

Have changed mine to an Alpine IDA X100 with ipod & usb playback it is a great bit of kit and you can get them for about £150 if you look around.

Since the Pioneer unit plays MP3 / WMA I just dump the tracks I like onto a data CD and use that. But then I don't own an iPod.

It should be an easy plug and play if you get the same make of stereo, even if not there should be minimal messing about. Just buy the correct removal keys and it should take you no longer than 10 minutes.

Hi.

I bought an IP Bus to 3.5mm jack plug cable off ebay for £8 for the pioneer in my T350. I then just plug in my MP3 player. You have to use the track select off the player and it doesnt charge it but works well and my player lasts 20 hours fully charged.

The speakers in my old T350 were upgraded by Carl of Car & Bike Installations, really rate his work!

Richard i know your local to me and i used Norfolk car audio on Dereham road, they did a good job and it only took a morning, it might be worth giving them a call.

Ive used them before but not overly impressed. I have used NICE in preference. I will pop along and see them when I get the car. Due to pick it up on the 1st. Cant wait. Im as happy as a dog with two willies

My opinions were the other way around but there we go. I bet you can't wait! possibly see you and the car at a meet sometime.

The DEH-P5600MP is a pretty decent stereo.
I was going to upgrade until I played around with the EQ settings and made it sound MUCH better (Note the EQ settings and NOT the bass, treble etc).

I have the standard Clarion rear speakers and the NXT front setup.
