What wide body 7-alike kits can you get?

i'm a big chap- 6ft 2, 23 stone, 42" waist, and i'm struggling to find a car i can fit into!

Any ideas?

Would I need a fairly chunky engine to make up for the weight too?

Look at a Luego Viento, these look like a typical LSIS but scaled up by a factor of 1.5, definitely one for the fuller figure.

What cars have you tried so far?

The current Westfields are now all Wide Body cars; Chris Smith (who developed them) is about 6'2" and I rattle round in one like a pea on a drum (though I'm a relatively sylph like 15 1/2 stone).

The Westfield is pretty spacious.

Engine wise, there's a lot to choose from. Megabusas are very quick or you could always go V8 power. I have a Cosworth engine in mine and that flies.

Robin Hood have done both wide body and narrow body. The Exmo is a narrow body.

Try a 2B for size. Normal sized Sierra seats fit and at 6'1" I would pull the seat forward if it would go, I really have to stretch to get the clutch down.

the exmo is narrow? sure not!!! the widest seven i ever drove!!!

i´ve driven one back from UK reecntly for a friend:

it had sparco bucket seats fitted (the ones you normally fit in your daily driver cars) and there was approx. 5cm space besides each side of the seat.

also the seat was on runners and i sat quite low in the car, so the windscreen had an easy job to protect me from the wind.

for buying a seven or other kitcar its necessary that you do as many trials to sit inside a car.

after you tested certain brands you know exactly what car you can buy. than you can check out for the best offer which will match your size and your budget.

Are you sure it was actually an exmo? Did it have mini mcpherson struts in the front suspension?

I know a couple of people with exmos and while they are fairly wide on the outside the cockpit is narrow on each side of the tunnel because the tunnel is very wide. Only narrower seats fit.

Suggest you go to the next show and sit in a few, I think you might struggle to be comfortable, good excuse to go and bet a cobra replica though !

Caterham SV. The standard Seven is pretty intimate, but there are some seriously tall drivers squeezing into SVs, so I presume there's a certain ammount of width on offer too.

What seats do you have? My friend has fibreglass bucket seats and his car feels positively cavernous compared to mine. I'm 6'1" and 12.5 stone and only just fit in the Dax really. My friend is bigger than you are and can squeeze into the passenger seat of mine but fits in his fine.

Quantum Xtreme is what you need. 6' 3" and 19 st. Fits easy peasy.

The others I have fitted in are:
Westy with lowered floor
Caterham SV with lowered floor
Dax rush LWB with lowered floor

You can see a repeating theme here.

The Xtreme has a standard floor and I look through the windscreen not over it.

You can fit a rover v8 in, but these days Durabang power would be the way to go!

I've seen a westfield without seats - just cushions on the floor and back - you'd easily fit in that. I'd go for V8 power though - bike engines suffer with additional weight - I feel the difference when my wife insists on passengering and together we only weigh 21 stone.

second vote for Luego Viento, which often comes with a V8 for extra power.

most of the cars already listed will be fine for height, but you will struggle with the width.

my Robin Hood looks tiny when parked next to a Luego
