Mystery ECU fault code 26 !!!!

I know that it is not supposed to exist but my Griffith 500 is now flagging up code 26 on an OBD reader. Searching around and it appears a couple of other people have experienced this and suggestion is a low lamba reading (weak?). Some Jags use this code on their Lucas system.

I have had a couple of non starts over the past couple of days (spins over but would not fire) but then cured itself after a few minutes.

Anyone encountered this before?

I did see a mention of low fuel being a possible cause.

Cause of problem appears to be a faulty wire to the ignition amp connector - wiggling it would cause the engine to cut out. Why it was flagging up the mythical code 26 I do not know though!

Dont forget unburnt fuel gives the same reading as a very lean mixture in Lambda terms (ie lots of unused oxygen) so the ECU diagnosis is correct in a round about sort of way.
