Donor Card GT - August 9th - Gaydon
Discussion
The Eighth Annual DONOR CARD GT Charity Run will take place on Sunday 9th August 2009.
Starting from the Heritage Motor Centre, Gaydon, Warwickshire, the event will be flagged off by legendary rally driver Paddy Hopkirk, who will sign your rally plate for a small donation to the charity. This event always attracts some beautiful classics as well as modern 'future classics'.
Designed as the first step in rallying, the GT is a technical drive similar in content to a rally, but without the timing element. A tulip-style road book is provided with full directions, containing the distance between each junction and the overall mileage. Part of the route is dedicated to a jogularity section, where you are given directions via landmarks at given distances.
A brilliant event and a fantastic opportunity to develop your navigational skills.
A route book is provided and is all you need to navigate the sections (road maps are handy if you are lost).
Any car can be entered, no special equipment is necessary and no special licence is required. However, you are encouraged to carry your Donor Card.
Entry cost is £89 per car, with the proceeds going to the Cystic Fibrosis Trust.
