I got my magazine today. The car looks great. What happened at the 1/4 mile?

You may have covered this topic before but, how did you skin the cockpit with carbon fiber? Is it bonded to the frame or rivited? Is it lighter than the aluminum?

I missed a shift then broke a stub axle shaft.
Didn't get a chance to open the NOS Bottle, was hoping for 9's @ 140+
The carbon panels are epoxied to the chassis.
1/2 the weight of alum.

Finally got my copy of Car Craft. Also found it showing up at the convenience stores, had to buy a few extras ya know, LOL. Couldn't ask for a better article. Cover shot, 4 page feature story. Plus mentioned in 2 pages with the Real Street Eliminator Article.

I'm still looking for one. Went to Walmart, groceryX3 and Barnes & Noble. On the Car Craft hom e page they report that the Auto Zone boys are selling them so I'm headed there next.

I used to have a subscription to about six car magazines, then I started college and that was over in a hurry.

I found some at Autozone and a Mobil Convenience store.
Barnes and Noble around here doesn't carry it. Funny since the circulation is 325,000 copies and they sell lesser titles like Kit Car which is only 39,000.
Borders carries it too, and most supermarkets.

Finally got a couple of copies. Good article and good pictures. I would never have belived this car would set FTD against a lotus 7 replica with a mazda rotary until Jeff gave me a ride around the autocross course. The car launches hard and changes directions instantly.

Congratulations Jeff! I've got to get a copy of this! I've got my wife, Libby, jumping on my ass now to get my car registered so that we can actually enjoy the car. Showing her the link to the carcraft site with your car on the cover sort of ignited that fire! Plan on doing this in the next 2 weeks. Ken, these cars have awesome power and handling don't they? I took my wife out yesterday to help me calibrate the fuel map a little further, and we were both smiling from ear to ear. Talk about loud! Should impress the Harley folks. We calibrated up to 3500 rpm in most of the gears. We were cruising at about 60mph on some country paved roads, and on the drive home in my Jeep Cherokee, I felt like I was going slow at 80mph on these same roads all the way home. Being so low to the ground really amplifies that feeling of speed and rush! Talk about a fun car. Those AFR210cc heads run through a lot of gas though. I had the car running at about 13:1 A/F ratio and went through a gallon of gas pretty quickly! I'd guess we were getting about 8mpg, but I had the revs in the 2500 to 3000 rpm range most of the time. What a fantastic day! Can't wait to get this thing on the highway for further fine tuning.

My CNC ported LS6 heads are 235cc, my AF was around 13:1 at wot, higher at cruise, during Power Tour still got 20-22 mpg. Did you hear 2004 Power Tour is starting in your neck of the woods Mack?

Hmh...sounds interesting Jeff! I definitely want to try and meet up with you somewhere along the tour. Would really be great to get my car beautified enough to enter it in part of the tour. Need to get what's under the panels looking as good as what's on top. Not sure how you guys keep your cars looking so clean. Sounds like some pretty fun times though. When does this year's tour start? It sounds like I've got some additional fuel injection tuning to do...20mpg at cruise...I'm a little ways off from that with much smaller heads. Need to get it on the highway so I can tune my 5th gear cruise.

I've looked everywhere and still can't find a copy of either Car Craft or Sport Compact car magazine.

I've tried WHSmiths, Borders and a few local newsagents with no luck.

Is there anywhere I can get these online ?

only $25.00 for 12 issues delivered, seemed cheap to me.
