Hi all
I know it's not jap but it is asian so should count lol. I'm after abit more power from my 2006 2.0i CVVT hyundai coupe so i'm looking at getting the ECU reproggramed but i'm struggling to find anyone who does them. Can anyone here recommend someone who might do it or someone who's had the work done on their coupe? thanks in advance.

There are plenty of chip replacement and ECU flashers around the midlands that will remap your coupe, but in all honesty unless you go to town and start doing things like improved exhaust and induction prior to your remap chipping your standard hyundai will only realise a few bhp so really not worth it for the money you'll spend, and you may not even notice the difference.
You're better off grafting a turbo or supercharger kit onto it for some proper horsepower but that in itself costs a lot of money and hassle so IMHO....Either enjoy your car as it is, spend a lot of money on proper mods, or sell it and buy a rice rocket.

I seem to be struggling because of the CVVT loads will do the normal car but not mine. I was kind of hoping because of the low state of tune fiddling with the ECU would have better result than most. I'm convinced its a decent engine that just needed to be unstrangled, I might have to look again at the 350Z lol
For the biggest gains a turbo car is the best way forward.
With normally aspirated cars an ECU rechip or flash won't realise much at all unless it was that badly restricted by the ECU in the first place or the mechanical potential is there already and just needs exploiting. Raising compression ratios through a head skim, race/rally cams, uprated valve springs and high velocity porting plus bigger injectors will net excellent gains but not cheap to do and again the only way to realise these mods full potential is through a proper remap.
If you spent enough money you could get your Hyundai to make outrageous amounts of power but the point is how little can you spend for biggest gains. Induction and exhaust is still the way forward for instant results by way of sharper throttle response, bit more mid range go and a nicer sound without remap however, some proper ECU remapping (like Scooby's or Evo's), not just a generic reflash or chip will net you some reasonable gains, enough to make it worth the cost and keep you happier for a bit longer.
However, a 350Z is a very nice way to go and is a considerable upgrade in power and handling from your Hyundai.
