tom tom go 530 wont start?

Looking for some help if possible, my biss has a tom tom go 530, was working fine for months and months, today as we entered another address, it shut down and now when started, get a screen with tom tom and what looks like a cd box in the bottom right corner.
have tried to reset it with no joy, and have nothing else with it as it was 2nd hand from e bay.
is it dead or is it an simple thing to solve >?
