Today, for the first time, having owned my Noble for over two years, the car and I were abused for no reason what so ever. A fella walked past me in a car park as I was turning the engine off and aggresively stared and shouted that the car was 'a load of English s**t, f***ing rubbish and your a w****r, you c**t' I calmly gave him a big thumbs up and a smile. First time I've had any negative feed back! It would appear that the 'green eyed monster' had possessed him. Not sure what to make of the 'English' bit, as he was a white English looking fella. In fact, very Anglo Saxon, which may explain the primitive attitude.
Anyway, I've grafted for six days a week, usually 10 hours or more per day, for 26 years and all I can afford is a second hand Noble. If I went down the pub every night and P****d my earnings up the wall, I too could be a true Anglo Saxon with nothing to do but shout at real people that are prepared to work for what they have!

Here endith the rant.ranting

Good for you bernhund, I tend to have a more “hands-on” approach, not violent, just can’t accept ignorance. The only negative comments made so far on my car were from a middle-aged couple down in Boscastle Cornwall. My wife and I had just driven into the car park that was full, I had jumped out to spot any spaces, my wife switched the engine off and I wondered around, a nice guy then informed me they were off and I could have their space – great. I then informed my (then 8 ½ month pregnant) wife that this space was going to be free and to get the car ready for when the couple reverse out. She had’nt started the car for more than 10 secs when this lady came over to my wife and informed her that the noise was disturbing their in car picnic!!. My wife then told her (calmly) that we were just waiting for the car to move and we will be gone, but your exhaust is loud-move now. Nope, said my wife, when the car is out I will then move it. Disgruntled the woman gets back in the car, I’m watching this opposite, having a little chuckle to myself when the fella gets out and shouts at my wife to turn the F#####G engine off!!. At this point I wandered across the road and politely informed the fella that I thought it was time he took his picnic wife and car elsewhere, pronto, which he did. Have no time for morons who think they can insult other people they might perceive to be weaker than themselves. It does help being 6ft 5 though.....so the moral of the story is to grow a bit, or, stick your fingers up then drive really quickly regularly checking your rear-view mirror biggrinbiggrin

Theres some mentally unstable people around thats for sure, i havent had any grief in the Noble yet but did in the Exige, stuck in traffic in Newcastle next to a builders van with the window down and a labouring lad sitting in the passenger seat says "st car mate" to which i replied "st job mate" cue all his mates laughing at him..i was quite proud of myself usually its half an hour later before i think of a witty comment.

Talking of Porsche i got a lot of abuse as a young lad driving a Boxster..not so much abuse but i did have a black new style Audi A4 sitting 1 inch off the noble on a dual carriageway last week at around 85 leptons flashing his lights and basically being a tool.. i pulled over and vapourised laugh immature i know but quite funny at the same time. I slowed down further up the road and let him go turns out it was a 2.0 TDI haha

Hi fella's, I'm still lurking quietly in the background, lol.

Can't say i had any abuse whilst owning the Noble for 3 years, or the porker turbo for that matter. Although that might be because I look like a thug myself. Did get abuse once whilst in a car at work. Three fellas got out and approached the car with a crow bar and wheel brace shouting abuse for no reason. Well the funniest thing was there may have only been 2 of us but what they didn't know was that we were in a covert police vehicle (Not Traffic BTW) and was ready to greet them, lol.

I once had a yob in a rusty Renault 19 with a 4 inch exhaust call my car a 'heap of sh*t'.

Good job I was facing in the other direction!

I really struggle to understand the mentality of these people. I used to go to Londons West End on a Saturday as a 15 year old just to look at the expensive tin in Park Lane etc. Never ever thought anything but 'how am I gonna afford one of those etc' when I'm older. But I would aspire to it, work my nuts off and eventually buy a sexy motor. Why would anyone want to slag you off or scratch your paintwork?

Maybe because there are a lot of arse***les out there nowadays who aspire to nothing more than a rusty Renault 19 witha 4" exhaust pipe!
