Its a very good book. I really enjoyed it, such a shame about the gung ho yanks been left to wander the desert tooled up and just shooting anything that moves.

I would reccomend this to anyone with a interest in military writing.

I've had this on Sky+ for a while, but cannot persuade the Mrs to watch it. She liked Band of Brothers and The Wire, so is that my best bet?

If she liked Band of Brothers and The Wire she should love this, it is quite gung-ho, but its like a modern version of Band of Brothers in that its all about the relationships between the characters aswell as the fighting(or lack of), there's quality humour, and its written/produced/directed by the same guys that made the Wire, so all the ingredients are there for her.
