They both look stunning. And as I remember the 993 was styled by a Brit by the name of Tony Hatter. By far (in my opinion) the best looking 911; susequent models had too much front and rear overhang. Lovely; in the right colours too both inside and out.

The Cerb's gotta give you about the best bang for buck though, and by a long way I'd surmise.

I've trawled through the classified many times over the years, but never the Porsche section. Shame on you. Spotting Locos on Doncaster Station is less abhorrent.

At the price of Cerberas now, I don't know why the large majority of people don't own them? Maybe because they are 'so unreliable'. So many people think that. I mean could even buy two Cerberas for the price of one similar spec Porsche.

I'm sorry for typing this, ( & i have to admit, i dont like porsche ), but i was on track at Donny on Monday in the Cerb, & had the pleasure of going round in my mates GT3 911.

What a machine, i have to say, it made the Cerb feel somewhat docile, i even ventured into the Porsche classifieds as a result....!!!!

It felt sharper than the Cerb, it cornered better, the handling felt very benign, & the brakes were sensational. Even with uprated kit, the Cerb could never do what it did round the circuit.

Cant say my Cerb has ever been particuly troubled by a Porsche. Maybee it just suited your driving style?

Maybe. It did pull harder through its rev range though, still hard at 7500rpm.

I worked out, they both had about 410bhp, & both weighed about 1300kg, but somehow the porker felt more impressive!

Maybe my car's ready for a rolling road fettle again.

I reckon for me, it was just the shock of how well the porker went, i just didn't expect it. I suppose i now understand why all the motoring press rattle on the way they do about these cars..., particularly the GT3 & GT2.

Worth noting, this was a 2007 GT3, my mate bought it second hand, & it still cost him £80k

We're also talking about a Porsche that cost about 3x what the Cerb did/does (both brand new).

Which bit did he Style, the headlamps? I reckon that's what Porsche always do whenever they launch a new 911, change the headlamps and claim it's a completely different car! Are broken egg lamps currently in or out of favour?

Porsches are thoroughly competent driving machines for which I have the utmost respect, but they're EVERYWHERE !

I'm a petrolhead through and through, but anything after the 'traditional' 911
and I have to read the model number on it, IF it merits a second glance.
Shame really.

sorry chaps but i drove my brother in laws 997 turbo and apart from the turbo lag it was awesome ,doesnt touch a tiv for noise though!

Agree with the GT3's being quick but any tool can drive them really.

Put one of them in a Cerb with no ABS/traction etc and see how long they last.

And they do get everywhere, go on a trackday at Spa and every other car is a GT3 GT3 RS.

Nope...disagree.

Thank goodness the previous owner has resisted the trendy anthracites or other
dark shades of wheel, which to me make a car look like some old Astra that's lost its plastic wheel trims.

Too many (newer) TVR owners adopting the sheep mentality IMO.

Too true. I was driving down the M26 the other night, and noticed one being held up behind some slow driver in the outside lane. Slow driver pulled in and I knew this Porsche was about to put it's foot down and fly past, which it duly did. I already had my windows down and expected quite a nice exhaust noise, but no, couldn't hear anything other than the tyres!

Dark wheels on cerbs has been going on since at least 99. My first Cerb came with anthracite 18 RLs. Each to their own but certain cars look great with dark wheels in my (and many others) opinion. I agree that the white car would look great with some dark wheels. SP12s in anthracite would look great.
