Story has been updated:
A major search operation has been launched in the North Sea for a man who has gone missing from a North Sea oil platform.
He was reported missing from Shell's Brent Delta platform, 117 miles north east of Shetland, at about 1130 BST.
Helicopters are involved in the air search and help is also being provided by a Nimrod from RAF Kinloss.
Several boats in the area have also been helping in the search. Sea conditions were described as calm.
'In water'
A Shell spokeswoman told the BBC Scotland news website a full search of the platform and water was being carried out.
Aberdeen Coastguard received a call from the platform at 1132 BST saying that the man was missing and he had last been seen an hour earlier.
George Downie, watch manager at Aberdeen Maritime Rescue Coordination Centre, said: "We are co-ordinating the search for the missing man who is believed to be in the water.
"We have a Nimrod in the area coordinating two other aircraft and there are seven surface vessels assisting."
Not looking good.

Oh dear. Not nice, Thoughts go out to the family and friends.
Wasn't there another guy who went missing a few months ago and was found dead as well. Think it was on The beryl Alpha. Weird How it has happened again. Think that one was in the Press and Journal.
