It dawned on me today that Sky Sports News is a modern day equivilant to Teletext or Ceefax.

In my youth I used to find myself spending an age flicking through teletext, reading about obscure sports I have no interest in, like Speedway, then flicking over to Channel 4 to play Bamboozler and other st quizzes.

Now, instead of doing that, when theres nothing on TV, I'm bored or during the adverts. I'll switch over to Sky Sports News, even if its just for background noise. Exactly what I used to do with teletext.

So there you have it, thats my opinion, Sky Sports News is the new teletext - with the added bonus of Geogie Thompson, Millie Clode, Natalie Sawyer and an occasional appearance by Charlie Webster.

I think Teletext finishes on Monday, it was always on in the kitchen on a Saturday afternoon with Skysports on in the living room, dont know why as the updates were so slow
