MBE ECU Connection for Diagnostics
Discussion
Now that i have my car running right, i cant seem to locate the diagnostics socket, typically a serial port or 3 pin plug AFAIK.
The ecu is the MBE 970, ive opened it up but there is no connection. Externally you have the main loom which goes into the engine, a seperate black rf lead size cable which disapears behind the stereo, and a short lead with a 2 pin male connector hanging from the side.
I cant workout how or what the diag. connection is and how to connect to it, any ideas?

Your car wasnt made with the 970ecu, so thats been changed at some point and sounds like the ecu loom was never updated with the 3pin loom. you're stuck until you can get that 3pin loom into the multiplug.
how would i go about connecting a 3 pin? Is there a guide? What is the cable that dissapears under the centre console?Try to search the forum.
Like a year ago somebody made a description of which pins in the big connector on the ECU, should be connected to the PC.
Otherwise it would be possible to look at a car with the 3 pin connector to be able to locate which pins on the ECU should be connected to the PC. When you have that info you can make your own cable for the PC. I suggest that you make it long enough to be used without taking the panels around the ECU away.
I have put a cable from the internal ECU serial connector to a seriel panel connector that is placed on the carpet trimmed panel above the pass footwell. Now I don´t need to take the car apart to hook up the PC to the ECU.

The ecu appears to be a 4.5 and only has a 2 pin flying lead. How ould i go about connecting a 3 pin connection for diagnostics?
