I'm trying to search for a gift for my best man, which seems to be a common theme on here at the moment, and I've got the idea of trying to get him something from Star Wars.

Does anybody know where to get decent memorabilia from the original trilogy? Ideally I'd love to get him a decent replica of a Han Solo blaster, but the ones that I've found are out of my price range, which is about £100. There are 2 types that I can find a the moment, the pricey one and the cheap looking one

Does anybody know of any decent places to find this sort of thing? I'm thinking Forbidden Planet, but they don't seem to have anything on the site.

The Master Replicas Han blasters are beauties, but, as you say, expensive. They do come up on ebay from time to time, you could also try Rebelscum:

www.rebelscum.com

Probably the largest Star Wars collecting site on the web. Check the forums, you could put up a wanted ad if no-ones selling one at the moment.

The cheaper blaster is a Master Replicas one as well, but its a .33 scale one (ie not full size).

This is the larger one with its display case (ANH version):

If you cant find a blaster, try searching ebay for Master Replicas, they were the company who produced a lot of the full scale replicas. Some of them are cheaper than others, i managed to pick up a replica of Luke Skywalkers first lightsaber for £100 so you can pick up a bargain.

If not a blaster, how about a Stormtrooper helmet? The same company made a low cost version (goes for about £50) that looks good - dosen't come with a stand but you can buy one cheaply enough or use a paper towel holder:

Or there are the FX lightsabers, good replica hilts, light up with all the sound effects and come with display stands - they should be well withing budget. Have a look on youtube for vids but heres what they look like all lit up (and in a bright room, even better in the dark):

If your anywhere near London, theres the London Film and Comic Con at Earls Court this weekend, theres a lot of dealers down there who should be carrying the FX sabers etc, and much cheaper than FP.

If you need any pointers i'd be happy to help.

Thanks for that, I'll have a look at the link. I found the .33 scale ones this morning, I like the fact they are in the stand.

I'll also take a wander down to the convention tomorrow, if I'm there after 11am it will only cost £5 to get in.

Turned out they didn't have any of the smaller Blasters, but got photos of Darth Vader signed to each member of the groom party. Thanks for the heads up.

That's the kind of thing I'm after, don't like that advert though.
