Did you feel the same about Christians after WW2?We invaded a Muslim country therefore some of our boys will be getting killed by Muslims.
The OP's opinion does sound terribly misguided and in need of urgent education, but on the other hand the politicians have started this war on the back of 'terror' and religious extremists so it's not impossible that people would blame the whole thing on religious extremists. Although they seem to be playing down the war on terror angle a bit more lately.

This has nothing to do with Muslims or faith. How on Earth did you work that out?
The sequence of events is roughly:
- we (as in us and the west in general)have fought each other ever since the crusades, on and off, over the years
- we sided with their enemies (Isreal)
- we intimidated their friends with warships and warplanes (Isreal and oil being the reasons)
- we corrupted and infiltrated their governments (Iran, when they were much more pro west)
- we funded their enemies (the settlements)
- In response to the above they escalated terrorist attacks and geurilla wars culminating in an attack on America (9-11)
- we invaded Iraq and Afghanistan (odd as the 9-11 lot came from Saudi Arabia)
- We effectively threatened war on Iran
- Iran got nervous and started ramping up its nuclear ambitions
We could have stayed out of this region and let them all sort it out themselves after World War 2, but we got involved. Helping Isreal and oil. I'm not saying that these weren't good reasons, morally and economically respectively, just that they were the reasons.
Having got involved we kept up the "we're the good guys so they must be the bad guys" line. Not very constructive really.
Now we are stuck in this mess.

I think you're safe. You don't tend to get banned for being a bigot if most other posters point out you're posting rubbish. This way it doesn't reflect badly on the site as a whole.

The you're either young and naive or being a spastic. If the death of <200 British soldiers is enough to make you hate Islam, though, you'll be pleased to know that our kill/death ratio is miles higher than theirs. If you think we've had a bad month, this was three years ago:

In light of such heavy casualties inflicted upon our enemies in Afghanistan, I find the talk of pulling out when it's costing us dozens of lives more than a bit hypocritical.

There was a soldier on TV the other night who said he was well looked after and well equiped on his tour but when he got back to the UK it was like being dumped on the scrapheap. No respect from UK citizens and no support from government or Army.
Shirley it shouldnt be a thankless job to your own people.

Yeah respect indeed. I think one issue here is the media coverage given to these conflicts. The only real coverage is filming the poor devils being carried out of aeroplanes at RAF bases wearing the union jack. I`m no militarian or a politician but even I can`t believe we enter into these campaigns without an exit strategy. How can you "win" against an enemy you can`t identify on his home turf unless you just steamroller the place and lay it to waste?.Shirley it shouldnt be a thankless job to your own people.
Respect to the troops
Its a thankless job because the public here are sick and tired of these unwinnable wars fought on distant fields in our name whilst we have an open door immigration policy. Why do we fight these people abroad but invite them in at home? Surely our armed forces should be lined up on our borders protecting us from these extremists.
