As the subject really.

My old man's emigrating at the end of the year and has suggested I take ownership of his car. It's a fantastic cruiser, it's done 380k miles with not a hitch (driven it many times myself too, including a ski trip to the Alps back in 1999).

But I don't need a car in Edinburgh and certainly not a big old luxo barge, so I'll be flogging it. I've just no idea what to advertise it at, though.

1 owner from new, regularly serviced etc, minor cosmetic scrapes on the outside, pretty good on the inside, 380k miles, only had to have exhaust and consumables replaced, dark blue exterior, pale leather interior.

Guess I'm looking at a ballpark figure so I can market it right as I only want it to flog it, if that makes sense.

ETA - it's an auto.

That's the perfect city car! tongue out

Doubt you'd get many bus tickets for it though.

Roughly 200 Daysavers at a guess... frown

Fair enough, thought it was somewhere in around half a grand. There's some right chancers on Autotrader though biggrin (admittedly with fewer miles)

Aye, it's a shame - it's been a blinder of a purchase. Rock solid for nearly 400k. Still a pretty nice car too.

Is it not worth keeping it bubbling under ready for the occasional transcontinental blat..?

Not sure I can justify the tax, tbh.

Oh wait - those huge hikes were were cars after 200-and something weren't they?

There's always the scrappage scheme too (like anyone will give me finance on a new car hehe ) Oh, no there isn't - "have been registered to you continuously for 12 calendar months before the order date of the new vehicle". And it finishes next March. Oh well.

It won't be until later in the year, so I'll pick brains at the next Hamiltons drinks.

Ta.

Just had a quick insurance looksee and that's what I can't really justify at the mo - 480 quid fully comp.

(I have a non-fault claim 3 years ago and an SP60 and SP30 from around the same time).

So sell it is.
