After my worries over my neighbours bd cat in this thread... http://pistonheads.co.uk/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&amp... .....I can confirm that I am going to have to kill it....

Over the weekend in managed to get the Rabbit out of its cage and attack it, leaving it for dead in the back garden of its owners.....what do I do now?

All PH answers welcome, including 'NUKE HIM' etc......

Buy a new rabbit and build a stronger cage.

That you don't like your neighbour's cat maybe?

Cats have a decent nose and dont like things like tobasco or chilli and they tend to deficate outside of their own garden. When I had issues with a neighbours cat I used a fair amount of these plus the hose pipe. It did take a while and I did feel a bit mean when the cat took the full force of the hose but eventually I won. Neighbours didnt like it but they couldnt do much about it either, Its not like the cat listened to them either.

Well.

The first thing is don't come on PH being upset about it. The anti-cat league will start up with the usual "nuke from orbit" statement rapidly followed by the pro-cat society that will tell you that any and all harm the cat does you, yours or wildlife is simply karma.

Practical advice: Cat proof your garden. It's not east but you can make it really, REALLY hard for the thing to get in. Razor wire, carpet gripper, trellises. Just make climbing in too hard for it to bother with.

Facetious advice:

1) Delete all your posts
2) Kill it quietly when next it visit
3) Bury it at LEAST two feet down
4) Never mention this to anyone. Ever. Not on here. Not in the neighborhood. Take the secret to your grave.

Cats go missing all the time. Why do you think that is? They meet someone or something that takes exception to 'em and then they go on their holidays.

Just deal with it. The sensible approach is cat-proofing. You can do this in an enclosed rear garden: out front it's not possible but there you go: don't leave the rabbit out front and you will be fine.
