May be there with one of the SEAT's as a shake down - not sure whether it will be finished in time! Its off to Porto next Monday for the next round. Its only 5 miles up the road to Odiham or so for me so would be perfect!

TRACKDAY EXTRAVAGANZA

With Double World Champion Derek Bell MBE

In aid of “Help the Heroes” RAF Odiham – Sunday 26th July

Irrespective of individual political views on the war in Afghanistan there is no doubt about the fact that our guys in the Armed Forces are suffering a dreadful loss of life and some of their families are being subjected to unbearable levels of distress while life goes on as normal for most of us and are we continue to play with our cars of some of the world’s greatest circuits.

This coming Sunday we all have the chance to have some fun whilst making a worthwhile contribution to the charity which supports Service personnel and their families with 100% of the taking being donated to Help the Heroes, everyone from RMA, five time Le Mans Winner Derek Bell and the Marshals will be working for nothing, the RAF are laying on a fabulous lunch, a private flying display from the amazing Chinook, Karting, static helicopter display with guns fitted and a whole lot more. Porsche are providing a hot lap car for Derek and Caterham are coming along with their R500 of Top Gear fame and running a Slalom Competition with a bottle of Champagne for the fastest time of the day providing they can beat their female instructors’ time.

There will be other hot lap cars and we are still working on a couple of other surprise attractions but can assure you, it will be a fun filled day.

WE WANT TO RAISE £25,000 AND WE NEED YOUR SUPPORT

The timings for the day are as follows:

0730 main gate open for arrivals – there will be a second gate open for 'low-slung' cars and also to reduce the burden on the main gate.

0830 welcome brief by Stn Cdr to include a presentation on the role of the Station
0840 safety brief from RMA to include flag meanings and emergency procedures
0855 final brief from RAF Odiham to include a weather brief and damage/insurance brief.
0900 track open for familiarisation
0930 or as required, open pit lane.

1200-1330 lunches available in the briefing room
1230-1330 track closed for sweeping and damage check
1700 Track closes

Timing of the flying display will be announced on the day.

ENTRIES MUST CLOSE MIDDAY THURSDAY

I've done 2 days with them in the last year there and its a great track, well organised.
Book throught their site:

If this is Sam, cloud9 its worth going just to see her, last time I was in my car with her she was shouting abuse at James (Sober des..) who was driving for not driving fast enough and taking the wrong lines.

Blonde, loverly personality, Beautiful, great driver, what more do you want.....

ETA: she's quick as well good luck!

Can we detour on the way to Scotland....

Derek will be there with a Porsche GT2 doing fast laps around the circuit. There will also be a fabulous Chinook display at lunch time together with many other attractions as already mentioned! Shame if you are not booked as it is now closed!

If you are military then you can get access to the base. If you are civilian and not connected with RAF Odiham, then the only way is through RMA and their books have closed for this Sunday. The next track day at Odiham is 6 Sep but no flying display or other attractions, just the track day.

Well what a great day that was. Massive thanks to Phil (S6PNJ) for organising another brill trackday. Hope you raised lots for HFH. Matt your Clio is the nuts, such grip and the most fun car I have been in in a long time. Even if we did have a moment getting the car off the ramps! Gutted I didn't take a pic of that.

I'm uploading the video's to you tube now, and some pics to follow.
