Have been learning to fly helicopters this year under the tutelage of Mike Wilds (race driver/instructor and helicopter instructor extraordinaire). He was feeling sufficiently confident of his teaching skills and my ability not to balls it up to send me solo for the first time today. Had to pass my medical and an Air Law exam beforehand, but all good.

So 19 hours of flight time in and I now have 12 minutes of solo time to my namebiggrin

Also signed my first log as pilot in command woohoo

Picture of proud pilot and trusty steed below.

1/2 stone off the limit - any more and I'd need the instructors sign off that I can exit in an emergency redface

If it's the same chap I did a lap of the Mira bowl with Mike yesterday in a 911 GT3 RS. He doesn't hang about. Well done flying the chopper.
