Donington Cruise
Convoys to descend on race track this Saturday
This Sunday Donington Park near Derby is to play host to a different sort of motoring activity. Instead of motor racing the venue is playing hose to a 'cruise'.
The event is being organised by the British Racing and Sports Car Club in association with Midnight Racing.
There will be a special area for the drivers to do donuts and there will be an opportunity for cars to battle head-to-head in acceleration tests.
Also present will be the The Cruise Championship Pit Babes and a sexy Miss Santa contest as well.
Special rendezvous points have been established to form legal convoys of cars travelling to Donington.

Hmmmm... maybe they need showing what a 'real' performance car is all about?
Yes - What happened to Off-Road Monthly ?
As an astra 1.4 with a poxy 82 bhp I can tell you any idiot can drive a fast car fast but it takes real ability to get a slow one up to a moderate velocity.
I won't be going to Donnington, as I will be down my allotment tending my weeds. I challege anyone with a performance car to lend it me to see If I can get to work any quicker over the Runcorn Bridge !

As a Locost race car driver (and regular top 5 finisher) with a 20 year old 1.3 with a paltry 65bhp I think I qualify well enough
Off-road monthly????

It's Saturday evening/night, but I'd like more details
But then it's only 30 minutes away so I might pop over anyway, I'll try and find the V8 Scort

If it's not raining/snowing I'm going to try to get there, might be a laugh
I've even logged into the cruisenotts website forum to see if I can get any more details......

raceboy, My frind is shy, so probably wont find his escort anywhere but the car park.
But if its in in the masses, its cosworth shaped (without the whale tail) big grey slate alloys, roll cage, bucket seats, stipped out interior, 2 inches off the ground, but an E reg (ie before the coswroth body was invented) hes built a lot of it himself.
(Mmm, that could be any of the escorts then at this place!
)
...If he starts it, you will know about it.. (listen for TVR V8 noises from an escort!)
