Sorry I can't help with employment law etc., but surely if you're up to the job then it doesn't matter if you get tested or not?

Well, for a start your boss needs to learn how to use an apostrophe. His grammar is, quite frankly, an abomination. It amazes me that people with such elementary English (non) skills rise anywhere above floor sweeping and burger flipping.

Maybe you should ask if the tester from Hong Kong will be testing the firm's grammar and spelling skills.

So, you're being given four months warning that you might be tested on something that you need to know to do your job?

Surely the correct response is "thanks for the heads-up boss, what do I need to know to make sure I pass"?

Its not about me being worried about the test, Like I said, I fly around the world to do my job on my own or with someone else so I do not have a problem giving me a test on subjects I should know, I am confident I will pass, what I do is very specilised and you do not come accross many people who do the type of work I do, we are always struggle to find not only good people, but people full stop. But its from the point of view of using it to sack people/ my friends who got the lowest score is that not wrong? There is more to it than this email, this just took me by suprise as there is a bigger meaning behind this.

spelling and gramma police ,rolleyes cheers for contributing to the thread, where would we be without you.

the reason why I ask is because ive never been in a situation where redunacncy is possible, so what maybe a dumb/ easy question to you, is not for me..
