Electric garage doors

Hi folks,

Any recommendations for companies operating in the South East?

Looking for a uPVC segmented door that slides up and stores horizontally, as opposed to a roller door. One with a rubber seal at the bottom ideally.

Rough idea of cost would be good too.

I know everest glazing do these as my grandparents got one fitted last year. Its in orkney by the coast ad on top of a hill and gone through the winter up there fine (100mph winds etc)and the garage is still dry.

I have a Henderson G30 with the electric mechanism remote controls etc to go up for sale shortly

Its new just removed from the packaging, there's a 5 year warranty from the date of installation

You can make any door electric with the appropriate kit. I have an electric door lifter which came off my garage door. It's been sat around outside for a while so might well be fked but you are welcome to it if it would be of interest?

"Standard" size whatever that is. What style/colour is it? We want to go for a sectional door of some sort. How easy are they to install?

There is no standard size, you will need to measure, Mine is 7'6" wide, 7' high and is sectional.

It fits onto the inside wall of the garage and requires 3" either side of the opening as a minimum. So total width is 8'

It requires 6-7" of clearance above the opening for the rails and mechanism. So total height required is 7'6"

It requires the height of the door + 28" back into the garage for the full width of the door. So total length is 9'4" back into the garage @ 7'6" High and 8' wide.

It is white, with small rib channels every 3"'s or so on each panel running horizontally.

I have the instructions which are very comprehensive, but easy is dependent your ability.

To clarify, does yours wind onto a roller or roll back horizontally into the garage?

slighly off topic, i have a electric garage door that opens via rollers etc. i have not got the fob to open it.

how do i go about getting a replacement fob?

do i need to contact the manufacturer (if they still trade) its quite and old door.

or will any electric garage door company be able to sell me a key and code it to the reciever on the garage door?

Sectional garage doors slide back into the roof of the garage.

Roller doors, roll up onto a roller.

Mine is sectional.

Thanks for the offer - we have found a local place dealing in Novoferm & Hormann doors that seems to know their stuff

My dad has a Hormann door on his garage for several years that has been great.

I lost my remote fob and used one of the many on-line places to supply a replacement. In my case, I needed to set a bunch of dip switches on the motor unit to pair the new remote to the unit. This is apparently quite a common method.

Is the kit that you have everything I would need to remove my old manual garage door and replace it with a fully electric remote control system?
