W211 E55 AMG Wanted
Discussion
Hi All,
I've been on the lookout for an E55 but so far no luck. Ideally I am after an 03-54 plate, prefer the saloon and also Black, although silver would be fine. Mileage wise I am looking below 70k and must have FSH.
Do you have one for sale, or maybe you are thinking of selling. Or do you know of someone who is selling one? I have been monitoring Autotrader and the classifieds on here.
Let me know,
Jules.

The problem with specifying is that you end up waiting for possibly a year or more, I know I did when looking for the one I have got, I know it is a diesel but the colour combination took ages to find. The next hunt for the AMG is on and I expect to wait as long if not more. Good luck with your search, if you are not fussy about a light interior your serach should be short, I assume you are now getting the ads from the 'AMG' section on classifieds on a daily basis?

Some good points, thanks. To be honest I am quite flexible on spec, most appear to be silver with either black or anthracite leather interiors, I am ok with this. The hardest part is trying to find a straight one. Yes I am regularly scanning the ads.
Thanks
Jules.

I'd go for a post facelift one if I were you. Apparently they made lots of improvements to sort out reliability issues and also started galvanising body panels to prevent rust. I'm not sure of the exact cutoff date but I think it's around late 04 early 05.
I think the changeover was late 2003, so 53 plates onwards.Cheers Jules.
Took me ages to find mine, I wanted a low milage E55 estate had to be 7 seats and key less. I went for a main dealer car so I could get the warrenty for 3 years/100k miles. So far done 30 k miles in it and when I move it on after 3 year or 100k miles (what ever comes first) dont no what im going to replace it with as the e63 just dose not float my boat. Audi RS6 estate or is it going to have to be a M5 ?

If you are referring to the latest RS6 then not a bad choice, but having driven an M5 then I don't see this as a natural progression. However my views and opinions will be totally different to others.Jules.
My 04 Kleemann Stage 2 E55 is for sale - it's a tiny bit more powerful than a standard one...

Hi Dan,
I've seen your car on a few of the Mercedes Forums as well as Ebay.....and it looks to be an absolute monster. However budget wise I am looking to spend less than the £28-£30k you are after, so unfortunately I'll have to give yours a miss. Best of luck with the sale though and it seems to be doing well on Ebay.
