Been chatting to Brummie this morning about setting up a group buy. He's just about to get a new compound in, the RC5+, which is equivalent to Ferrodo DS2500, or if any of you prefer he can do the RC6, which is the DS3000 equiv.

If we can get 10 people then he can do a set of front pads for £110 posted.

I don't know anything about brake pads, are these the best you can get? And are they road or track?

Brummie swears by them, but then I guess he would being a distributor! lol They do seem to have a good write up though from what I've heard.

The RC5+ is a fast road/occasional trackday pad I believe. If you're planning on doing mainly track stuff then the RC6 is probably the better pad to go for.

looking at getting these for the new disks i STILL nede to organise on a group buy. Brummie, are these better than the DS2500's? I'm not looking to track - so purely fast road use.

cheers

Which ones have you got Graham? What's the difference between the RC5 and RC6? Which are the road/which are the track.

Graham has the older RC5 compound, the ones i will be getting are the newer RC5+ compound, if i can get a decent order together i can get them manufactured sooner, RC6 is the full race version with more bite, but possibly more squeal, no 2 cars seem the same. I am running the new compound and have been for a while, as i prototype tested for them.

I've got DS2500's (standard on my 4.5 Red Rose I understand), but I've been getting fade on track.
Would the RC5+ be better in this respect?

Oh yes, you are melting the pads if you are maintaining pedal pressure, you will not melt these. I've said this before, but these boys do stuff for airbus, mirage jetfighters, TGV trains, and even the Space shuttle, oh and Sebastian Lobe!

Brummie, I've put myself down for some RC6, but how good are they from cold? That's a problem we have when sprintng! No time to get them hot.

why do things like this come up when i dont have the cash to or actually need them, my pads ar about 1/2 worn so in no need for them at all, but you can bet your bottom dollar thet when mine wear out there'll be no deals on. rolleyes
