Afternoon All,

Just wanted to share my woes...and ask some advice.

It's my stag do on August the 15th, so the best man and I set about organising it in early May. One of my friends had been to this place - Spy Games, where he did weapons training, evasive driving and other spy-type stuff. Sounded really good.

So I phoned Spy Games and they confirmed the detail (pistol, machine gun and sniper rifle training/unarmed combat/axe throwing/J-turns, handbrake turns, slalom driving/safe cracking and bomb-diffusing). Sounds ace doesn't it - a full day for £175 a head, including lunch, and I needed 12 blokes. The bloke at Spy Games got out the diary and pencilled me in for the 15th August.

I have my party now so the best man rang spy-games to confirm all's well. They've only gone and got doubled-booked at the venue for the driving (in Northampton) - 'unfortunately the weekend of the 15th of August they are fully booked up with corporate events'. Conveniently for them the venue at the spy-games HQ in Buckingham IS available for that weekend. So they've offered us the weapons and fighting for £145 a-head and that doesn't include the lunch.

Feel really miffed as we were well up for all this.

It was the driving that was the exciting bit, so I was wondering whether anyone could recommend
a) Any action I can take with Spy Games (We didn't pay a deposit of any sort)
b) Anywhere else I could try for this stunt driving experience...preferrably in East Anglia?

Cheers

That place looks awesome!

I need to think of an excuse to go. Wonder if I can persuade any of my mates to get engaged...

why did you leave it so late to confirm? not heir fault really.

Doubt there is anything you can do against Spy Games either since you've not paid a deposit.

afraid you've answered you own question as whether there is any comeback right there....

they'll be loads of similar things - would have thought they'd be reasonable open to do a deal as the corporate ents side is seriously down...

good luck anyways.

Fair point folks...just wish they'd said 'pay us a deposit to confirm' rather than nothing it all.

Oh well, can anyone recommend anything along the stunt driving lines?

Something fishy there £175 for the driving and a lunch, and now they want £145 just for their HQ ?

Doesn't sound straight up to me. That said I don't think there is much you can do, certainly nothing legal. All you could try is if you still want to use them, then try to negotiate the price. Just be aware that they MAY cut corners on the day in return. Not an ideal situation tbh.
