This car does exist, I happened to see it last week.

It's just a fair price, as it did have a slow speed end shunt to the boot spoiler area sometime ago

I am sure that was for sale a while ago when I was looking for mine. As graham says it had been in a recorded incident. No idea why the sellers do not say as you will find out at some point and obvious from the price.

so obviously a Cat d, and reflected in the price for an 07 car with 4K miles

like any Cat d, as long as you buy it cheap enough, get it thoroughly inspected, and understand that you will have a very limited market come resale time, then it could be a good deal.

Cat D, does that mean the chassis has been damaged or only bodywork??

cat D just means "non decided to repair" ...usually that its cheaper to give the owner thier £40K (whatever) and sell the rest to a breaker/repairer...could be anything ..maybe the insurers thought it was goint to take months to get the parts,...who knows

the worst is that the car can never be taken off the register, even if its better than new....so best buy cheap, because come re-sale you have to sell it cheap to even get people interested

In my opinion, any Cat D Sag needs to be sub-£30k to make it worth a punt. You can get non-write off Sag's for just over £30k these days, why pay the same for something on the register.

hi everyone the car is NOT a D cat, but has had an insurance claim i have a letter from hpi that states clearly the car is not a d cat but has a had a claim and is condition inspected.the car has had a rear panel repair only and is a very nice genuine cheap car which is open to offers .john

Doesn't "condition inspected" mean the car was a cat C or cat D insurance write off; been repaired by somebody; taken to Autolign in Wolverhampton or Northampton; and been passed as satisfactorily repaired; and the cat C/D status removed?

I think you are right ....so does it still show on a HPI check as anything other than a "clean" car?
