Just found out tonight my 13 year old sister smokes.

She obviously can't get served her self as she doesn't look 18. So I blame her 16 year old boy friend. I want to smash his face in. What can I do to him that won't get me a prison sentence?

I'm nearly 19 and I'm a total health freak which is why is annoys me the most.

Advice on how to handle this matter please.

Your 13 year old sister is going out with a 16 year old guy and all you're worried about here is her smoking. hum

She'll probably grow out of it.

Start worrying when your 13 year old sister smokes in front of her kids.

Tell her you think she is being stupid, that you are disappointed in her and that she will regret it in the long run but that she must make up her own mind.

Yelling, screaming and having a go at her boyfriend will only be counter productive.

You're welcome, btw just because you are a health freak does not give you the right to dictate to your sister that she shouldnt smoke

Just my 2p, but any attempt to make her stop will just make her want to smoke more, such is the rules with teenage rebellion. Going down the "health freak" mentality would probably be especially negative, as she will be trying to forge her own intelligence.

Please can I suggest that the only way forward is to out the boyfriend as a nonce? Clearly there is no proof, but scribbling the accusation on the back of the bus stop near the shops will probably be enough to reduce the threat to her innocence. whistle

Have some friends "take care of him" whilst you are somewhere else with a credible alaby (sp?)

I smoked but only when i was older, and only socially. I did because i liked the taste, but i mainly smoked cigars when out with friends etc. She will most likely have started because she thinks its cool, or peer pressure from bf/friends makes her think its cool.

My sister is 13, i dont really like her but if she had a 16 year old bf id be having words/killing him. I used to be a 16 year old boy, i know exactly the kind of ideas he will be having, and shes too young for that.

Your best bet isnt telling her its bad for her etc, thatll just make it taboo and even cooler. Nope your best bet is to make smoking so uncool she wont want to. Ive no idea how to do that really, but trying to crush her views on it will just backfire, like it did with my brother who is now a 20 a day person.

Oh and if you're as protective as you say you are, you better sit down and have the talk with her, and not just the biology side, shell know about that.

I'd be a lot more pissed off if I found out my 13 year old sister was a health facist than a smoker to be honest with you.
