Cerbera Cutting out
Discussion
Help moved the car from garage two days of rain later went to start car okay on tick over went for a run got 1/4 mile down the road cut out and refused to start. Towed car home same again following day spoke to Track v Road and was advised to change Temp/Sensor (part no H0113).as this could be faulty therefore sending wrong information to ECU .Anyone got any clues ?????
Could still be the ECU (especially if one of the chips is damaged causing read problems from part of the ignition or fuel maps). What tends to happen is the wet runs down the ECU harness, right down on to the plug, some of it ending up inside the ECU. Personally I'd take the ECU cover off, double check that none of it is damp, check for rusting connections, etc. Maybe stick it in an airing cupboard for an hour anyway.
Unpluged ECU as dry as as you like no rust etc looks like new. But why would it start? alls okay till you go on the road. All three times the car has cut out its been the same distance from home and when i have just turned at roundabout. What about fuel starvation Blockage is that possable
The reason the temp sensor was mentioned is that if the ECU thinks the engine is always cold, it will fuel it too rich as it warms up. You could try unplugging it and running with it disconnected (not sure it will run, the MIL light will come on I expect) and/or clean up the terminals with some WD40..
Edit: it's on the passenger side near where the intake hose meets the air filter at the front.

That was one of the first things i thought of as rain water drains straight on to the coils. Wiped them down removed plug leads and electrical lead plenty of WD40 but still the same starts no missfire what so ever. Called in the professionals Track V Road Picked car up this morning. Where do you stop before you find the fault Coils, Sensors,Fuel pump,Fuel Lines, etc etc and many hundreds of pounds later. Cheaper in the long run for them to do the job.
