New grille

Just wondered if you guys like the new stainless steel grille I had made.
Its held with 4 x 1/4 turn knurled steel fasteners so you can take the grille off in just a few seconds.

It looks OK but you have seriously reduced its function of allowing hot air from escaping the engine bay so on that basis it does not get my vote.

Temp is exactly the same as without the grille (78 degrees). tested it over 60 miles inc traffic & theres no difference .

That must be because the centre of the R is missing, that area alone probable has the same surface area as all those little holes in the standard expanded ally mesh

Must admit I did initially wonder about temp (the holes are 8.5mm diameter), and as you say the centre letters will let quite a bit of steam out

No offence, but sorry imho it looks too much bling apart from the temp issue. Probably find that kind of thing in certain suburbs or countries where things "flashy" are the rule.

Mmmmmm....not my style but respectable. You just need to find white rear lights to complete your "silver bar"

Should change your handle from wilder to, THE SILVER SURFER !

Sorry can't really see the point of finding a screwdriver, taking off the rear grille then lifting the rear clip so as to gain access to the engine, exhaust tail pipes look a bit tight on the grille enabeling you to just lift the clip, why would you need access into the rear clip via the grille only, for anything ? but hey, its a kit car and everybody has there own twist on things, must say its very individual

respect to you JK for putting your own design on the car but the heat issues would worry me.

The reason its been done this way, is because its going to be used in stunt shows starting next week -outrageous looking is really whats required - thats also why it was done with the chrome wrap.
Around the gearbox area is backlit, and its really all just for show as an advertising medium.

Oh, btw, Im waiting now for a shipping date by DHL for the carbon parts. Were hoping for the end of the month when they are likely to arrive. Will keep you posted.

cant see it effecting cooling at all, especially at speed.

Not sold on the look tho... but it certainly suits the rest of the car which I suspect was the whole idea

Indeed Andy - it looks better from a few feet away rather than up close, and your right, its simply to give that mad sort of look in keeping with a car used in a stunt car show.

The Raccoon wrap is a complete coloured plastic covering then ?

Yes its a vinyl wrap put on in sections & took 2 days. Nice guys & they are very good.(they did the Honda F1 earth dream car wraps)
They can put anything you want -- A new wrap they are bringing out is a carbon fibre effect wrap. Anyone interested in pricing one from Raccoon please let me know as I can get you a decent discount.
