BMW Warranty - is this true or false?
Discussion
If you buy a car from a dealer who are not BMW you cannot get a warranty from BMW even if the car has a complete service history at BMW?
Because it looks like you can just go here:
http://www.bmw-warranty.co.uk/Pages/Home.aspx
and get one regardless if the car has less than 100k miles?
I brought my car from BMW but a friend is looking at an M5 from another dealer.

You can get a warranty from BMW as long as the car has been serviced correctly. The first year will be slightly more than if you are just renewing. Also if your car has under 60k miles it is cheaper than if it is over 60k miles. If you are close to the 60k mile mark it is worth paying monthly rather than annually as the price stays the same rather than going up the following year when you cross the milage marker.

I think that to do this you have to have received a renewal invite. You can't just get a quote on any BMW I believe you have to have a new or AUC BMW with a warranty coming to an end and have received a renewal invite.
sorry, you are totally wrong. The system recently changed. Yes, a renewal can occur as normal with prices differing in respect to mileage but if your car is OUT OF WARRANTY bmw will allow you, providing a fsh from bmw exists plus some other age and mileage criteria exists. As per what ssj84 stated. Not sure why you posted an 'i think' post below my facrual previous post. BonkersRags said:

You are correct the product has changed recently you can buy a warranty on a BMW which was purchased outside the dealer network provided you meet certain age and mileage criteria to do so you have to phone the call centre and get a quote. I was responding to the original question which was whether you could go to this site http://www.bmw-warranty.co.uk/Pages/Home.aspx and buy a warranty for a car purchased outside the network to which to which the answer is no. To use the site you have to receive a renewal invite with a pin number. I probably took the OP a little too literally and so I apologise for posting my thoughts below your "factual previous post".
