Is there any need to say why you edited a post?

Is it because you may come across as dumbo when you only have written two words and fked them up?

Or is it because its just the thing to do?

I do it fairly regularly. Especially if in a debate type thread when I find it important to be clear what I've changed, in case anyone has a go at me or quotes me whilst I'm editing it.
