16th August Scottish Italian Car and bike meeting
Discussion
Hey
Just in case you have been wondering why I have been so quiet of late, it's becasue i have been planning a joint club meeting!
Luckily I have been banned from parking a lambo on the grass, so no repeats of my last road ( read ditch) trip!
Am posting this on club sites etc. hope some of you may be interested? it is a meeting and not an event!

Italian Car and Bike Joint Meeting
Hopetoun House 16th August 2009
In response to suggestions form various clubs proposing a joint informal meet we have gone ahead and planned one!
We have arranged with one of Scotland’s greatest country homes, Hopetoun House near the forth road bridge, http://www.hopetounhouse.com to use their grounds on Sunday 16th August for the meet. Check it out, it’s a stunning location.
It is not going to be a ‘public event’ like Craigton or AutoItalia. That would require a different level of intense organization over a longer time. If the meet works then it is hoped to plan a full scale event for Italian cars and bikes next year.
The arrangements are simple:
1. Hopetoun will charge £5 entry to their grounds for every car and bike, even if multiple occupants/riders. The organisers and clubs make nothing out of this.
2. The number of cars/bikes are limited to 200.
3. We have to be in the grounds in front of the house by 10.30am at the latest. Suggested leaving time is about 3pm
4. Clubs will be allocated space according to marque. We will use the horseshoe and drive in front of the house, which ordinarily are ‘off limits’.
5. You need to contact the organizer posting this, in advance, to notify if you are going to display as we have to limit the numbers. The display cars will get and display a permit.
6. The restaurant will go from table service to self service for the day. Capacity is 100. The food is good.
7. The house will try and lay on interests for children in the grounds.
8. An engraved cup and prize is being donated by 360 Complete Vehicle Detailing for the nicest or most original car/bike.
9. The family still live in the house and it’s open to the public so we have to be well behaved and safe!
10. It’s absolutely only Italian cars and bikes. No exceptions.

I'd like to bring the Testarossa along, but can't really make firm plans yet as we've just had our first child and everything's up in the air at the moment !
take some advice from someone who has lots and lots of babies ( three but seems more!) New borns really need as much maintaince and looking after as a lexus, so just leave them to their own devices and come along! Anyway by the time the baby is a month old ( i.e ) in time for the car show, it will be saying 'macina' and ciao so bring it along!!! ( ps i love babies so can i have a cuddle of it!)Paul

well, sadly no! I think someone may spot it even if you put fwawwi badges on it! I keep getting into trouble for bringing my fwawwi countach QV to club events! Some of the purists spot it aint from Modena!
Your more than welcome to come along and make the car park brighter and more interesting though!

Hi
Just an update. We are flying over the 100 cars and bikes and hopefully will be a lot more! We are limited to 200 so if you are interested please contact one of us soon. As it is a tourist attraction you are more than welcome to come along and just visit and see lots of nice cars and bikes!
I will try very hard to avoid driving a lambo into a ditch this time or onto any form of grass. Sorry but was an expensive outing the last time! sob!
