I would be using 5/16" or perhaps even larger....

I used microbore copper heating pipe from focus.... comes in a roll... works pretty well...

Dont forget to run two pipes (flow and return) if you intend to run injection.

thanks tegwin guess i,ll go for 5/16, just to throw a spanner in the works is microbore safe? have read various threads both here and elsewhere saying don,t use copper as it might go brittle and could leak around any fittings or flares put on it while other people say its ok to use as long as its clamped properly to prevent any movement.

I have used copper for my RV8.
If it is allowed to vibrate copper will work harden then could fracture.
If it is properly secured then it can't vibrate.

Copper will go brittle if it's work-hardened. If you just let a long run of pipe hang in the wind it will vibrate as you drive and harden.

If you do the job properly though and secure it to the car body at regular intervals with clips it can't vibrate and so won't work-harden and won't go brittle.

The fact it has petrol in it won't make any difference.

Many modern cars just use plastic pipes, and Ive done so in the past.

And 8mm OD will be more than adequate for a RV8 when fuel injected.
