thinking of changing my car

Hi guys Im thinking of changing my 1999 318(e46).Really looking for something a bit more powerful.The trouble is my budget is about £12000 and I really fancied an e90 but hunting round there only seems to be 318s for sale with reasonable mileage.I love the e46s I would probably say they are better looking and I could easily get a really nice 325/330 with low miles for my budget.Im not tight but also a bit worried on resale values on an e46 opposed to the e90.Any ideas on which would be the better choice?

I would only spend £12k on an E46 M3 or Alpina B3, if buying a non M then make sure it is a 330i at least and don't spend more than £9k or so now.

23k miles with nav etc.

You could always add nicer wheels at a later date to freshen it up.
