Because for the £150k it apparently cost, would you want a fast 2CV van, or say a 599?

I would imagine that it wouldnt cost a 150k to make in materials, rather the amount of time in labour would amount to that cost.

from the telegraph article it sounds like both donar cars were either a shed (2cv) and a write off (355).

Hell its the flamboyant Italians after all bertie.

God knows what they put in the tea over there.

hehe :O{P

I've always said should my 6 numbers come up I'm building an MR2 replica based on a 355, complete with panel gaps you can fit your hand through and off colour Toyota badges with the laminate flaking off.

That's F*ing AWESOME!

1) Both cars were write offs

2) We all KNOW newspapers lie through their f*ing teeth so it did NOT cost £150k to make nor did it come close

3) What happened to everybody's sense of humour?! frown

Years ago someone (maybe them) did this with a 2CV and a Lotus Esprit! That was p**s funny then too!

I wonder if they're registered as 2cv's or as a Ferrari / Lotus.

As for the Diablo - I've always said that if ever I had the money to do it, I'd find a bodywork written off Diablo and a Ford Transit Van (given that they have the same wheel base!) That would be too funny for words! biglaugh
