Basically, my OH has got some Americans staying with us this week. Four 16 y.o. girls who compete in rope skipping and have flown over for some training sessions with my OH.
Now, obviously being a good host and them being young, I wouldn't want to offend them. I'm sadly one of these people that is rather blasé when it comes to swearing, nothing too offensive but the odd 'st, bks and arse-wipe'.
Are there any swear words I can temporarily switch to that aren't well known or are not offensive in the US?

Twat, tt, tt, tt?

Apparently if you spell it correctly with a capital 'T' it's okay. Less of a swear filter and more of a grammar filter.

"Brown" is a Swear word.

Basically it means all the insults words you can think of put into one. eg "You Brown" means "you absolute mongoloid, useless fxxstick, coxxead, bellend moron etc etc!!"

HTH

I would avoid all political conversations with 16 year old girls, to ask them if they like Bush or Brown may get you on a register....!!

I have an American friend who I met at university. He picked up on the word 'wker' without really picking up on its category 2 offensiveness. He went on to work in the White House and is now an international lawyer.

He seemed to equate it to the word 'chap'. And used it inappropriately in shops and to bus drivers all over the place. His 6'4" stature probably saved his life.

So 'wker' maybe hasn't crossed the Atlantic.

Mongoloid, spaz, spacker and deacon will probably pass under their radar. As will twunt, rollocks and arsebiscuit. Well, ok, maybe not arsebiscuit.

Calling someone a div is very Brit-only too, although my American friends have picked up on it and are starting to use it themselves now. hehe

Yeah, you know, with a rope and they jump over it. It's a sport that most of Europe competes in. My OH does it for TV shows and the like.
