Recommend a hotel in Amsterdam, suitable for romance?
Discussion
Me and the mrs are doing amsterdam & need a hotel room. I've been before & ended up in some really drap, spartan room on the top floor of an 87 storey house (I'm not kidding, it took about 4 hours to climb the stairs - or maybe I was a little wasted...). Can anyone recommend a nice hotel, more suited for a couple than a group of lads, thats not going to break the bank?
i fond the b&b's to be much more romantic than the hotels in ams, and are cheaper. there's nothing like a canal view and a room in the eaves to get her 'in the mood' so to speak.
these 2 are owned by the same people, one of whom is a pastry chef [croissants to die for]:

all the above have been tried/tested by either me, my family or friends.
never stayed at a hotel myself, but my parents stayed here:

there's also the college hotel, which is 4star but cheaper than others as its also a catering college.

Can recommend Hotel Misc. Only a small place, with 6 rooms, but pretty stylish, great location, proprietors were friendly and helpful.
