Timing belt replacement for 98/99 Legacy

Does anyone know the mileage/time period for an imported GTB Legacy I've looked at a couple of 50K mileage examples and would like to factor into my purchase the cost of doing it.

100,000 Km, which is about 62k miles. Not sure of time period, most people seem to ignore that and just go by mileage.

Any idea what the cost would be using an independant subaru specialist?

Not much help to you on that count as I'm in NZ, someone on here should have an idea though. Failing that just ring up a local mechanic for a ballpark figure.

Its o.k. found a couple of independant specialists in the area so problem solved
