Anyone know whats the best for a 4litre Chim. Need to get one before the weekend..although driving on ice could be fun.

Cheers

Just get down to your local motor factors or even Halfords. I got mine from a Kwik Fit (not the cheapest, but they did have one in stock). Nothing special, but they are slightly larger than a standard 4 cylinder battery - obviously cos its a big engine with double the cylinders.... but other than that nothing special indeed.

Check tthis link out www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?t=49654&f=8&h=0&hw=Battery, and also do a search on battery. You will see a number of threads.

Remember 'Size Matters' if they aren't fitting it for you take the fibreglass box it sits in with you, not just the battery, you wouldn't be the 1st person to buy one thats to big

Well I've got it down to a fine art, no longer than 10 minutes but I've been doing it a while
Take the passenger side footwell carpets out.
Make with a big black marker a line on the floor level with the edge of the box and a verticle mark on the box with a line on the floor for left to right alignment.
Get on the floor under the car with a 14mm socket and undo the 2 bolts that hold the box.
slide box forward and disconect.
remove box from car and take to battery shop.
Refit is pretty much the reverse......
Connect back up, with alarm fob to hand for when it springs back to life.
Push back down the footwell until it lines up with your marks.
Fiddle about with a short thin pointy screwdriver lining up the holes exactly then refit bolts.
Refit carpets.
Go and enjoy a drive

With sealant, if you're really picky!
