What is curious is that people in publishing didn't think to check old videos before claiming the character names were true.

FYI There was a "Roger the cabin boy" in some of Arthur Ransome's "Swallows and Amazon" series of books!

(And a young girl called Titty! (tee hee))

This has to be the most commonly repeated and corrected urban myth ever. (not the death of the author) I can't believe that people actually thought a childs TV show had those idiotic names in it.

Sadly my Dad was a gay, autistic, OCD, control freak with no Godly qualities whatsoever.

Yes, but it wasn't for public airing to the kiddiewinks - it was made as a joke for a Christmas video tape for the Thames TV staff.
