I have been thinking of my next watch purchase and reading the 'talk me out of it or into it' thread the idea of a birth year watch appeals to me.

How much will be looking at for a 1979 speedmaster?

It doesnt have to be a speedie but something similar in style and where do i start looking?

thanks
pete

I was just thinking that very same thing. But I prefer the look of the Tag Monaco style watches, although a Omega Speedmaster would also appeal. I'm looking at a '80 for my birth year.

i am open to different watches as someone from here kindly sent me a message about a 70's speedie but the problem being that you may not be able to pin it down to a specific year!!

plus thinking about it im not to sure about paying £1500 for a 30 yr old watch when i can buy a brand new one for just over 2k

I am also looking to purchase a birth year speedmaster. 1986 though, so a bit newer!

What sort of prices would I be looking at? £1500?
