Hi, we have been extremely happy with our VXR over the last 13 months, but unfortunately a few days ago, while driving passed the golf course, hit a mud slide, then a wall which propelled me into a 4x4 (no one hurt) but resulted in a very very poorly Ro (if could figure how to put pictures on we would show you the result). Today we have had the assessors call quoting £21K for the repairs as we needed a full body shell. We are now waiting for the insurers offer any ideas what we should hold out for (VXR 07 19K miles) just serviced by the best Monkfish who are a pleasure to deal with and very welcoming, thank you Roger and his team for the loan of the demonstrator hopefully back soon with new car. We now have the task of locating a new Ro, contemplating VXR8 4 doors bigger boot possibly auto any advise good and bad points.

Ive seen a few standard VXR's on Pistonheads and Auto Trader from 15K to 20K with low mileage. Just print of the most expensive ones and send them to the insurers.
You might even get enougth money back to buy a 07 plate Ro with a SC etc.

My red 56 plate may well be for sale in about a month. I'm taking it down to Turin for my wedding but can't really afford to keep it after that.

Thanks for all the advice. We have printed off quite a few adverts, in preperation for the rejection of the first offer from our insurers. Just been down to Loughborough to have a look at the new VXR8's with autobox. Does anyone know what the limitations of the engine is with having the autobox. Also can anyone recommend the sat nav (£1500)or is it a waste of money. We both agreed it definately needed the louder exhaust guess that's a little trip to visit the big fish.

1. You can get better value by getting in touch with Aston Vauxhall £22888 (plus extra for auto) on the road with 6 months tax. Moss' are a grand more at least. Cheeky bds gave me a price and when I said I would have a Black one he says "Yes Sir, that will be another £750 for the colour"!!!

They obviously had the Sales Prevention Officer at work that day.

Don't bother with Sat Nav, I understand its suspect. Auto box needs a re-map to get the best out of it and ultimately it won't stand as much power as a manual if you are doing serious mods. Trailermasher has a Red Auto with a supercharger and, given the thumping he gave it at the track, it is holding up very well.

That's a very good good price for the auto. I'm surprised, I couldn't get any sense out of them and I've been in twice to try!

The guys on here don't have any reliabilty problems with the auto, but there are some good re-maps available for them.

With the low miles £19K minimum, say you'll meet them halfway at £20.5.
