Hey guys

I'm taking my Racing Puma to Bedford on Monday and am getting nervous about noise limits... the static is 100db with a 87.5 drive by.

My car is roughly 90db static but @ 4krpm.

I have an induction kit on the car which when on full bore will add to noise as will the popping and banging on over run (100db static)

I know its only opinion, but do you think I'll be ok? No local circuit for me to pop to for a drive by noise test!

Cheers

I was up there last week, they said you'd probably only have a problem with the drive by if you were very close to 100db on the static test. They'll also warn you if your getting close to the drive by limit on the track.

That'll easily be OK. Remember decibels is a logarithmic scale, so 100db is A LOT louder than 90db. It's something like twice as loud every 10db up the scale, so 100 is double the volume of 90, not just '10' louder....Someone will come along to explain it better than me rotate

The power is multiplied by ten for each ten decibels on the scale. So by the time you go up by 40 decibels, the power has been multiplied by ten four times (10 x 10 x 10 x 10). So it is 10,000 times more powerful.
