The 'Nutcase on Youtube' thread reminded me of this.

I was on holiday recently, taking a day long boat trip, all very lovely. Also on the trip was a family from mainland Europe, very nice people, intelligent kids, the whole bit. Got talking to the wife who told me all about her business interests and degree's and such-like, she was a very clever, sassy businesswoman who obviously knew her onions.

So far so good.

We get talking again an hour or so later and she starts to open up a bit(steady!). Was I aware, she says, that all vaccinations -MMR, swine-flu etc - are actually designed by governments to target our immune systems so we are more likely to die?
Did I realise that all governments are colluding to infect the worlds children with laboratory designed diseases?
Had I read the work of David Icke!!!?
It is probable that aliens are breeding with...

You get the picture.

By now I'm just desperate to get away but it's a small boat.
A few questions:
How the hell does a person manage to lead these two, seemingly disparate lives?
Does anybody know anyone this stable and yet this mad?
And what would you have done faced with this?

I should, of course, have said "What?? Are you mentally ill!!?" But I didn't, I just nodded and looked for an escape route. Why don't we just tell people what we really feel in these situations?

Because then you would be Strangely Brown and people would no longer invite you to birthdays and weddings. And especially Christenings.

Well, if you wanted to get laid, then you'd have agreed with her, but if not, then why not disagree?
