Reverse light on when in 5th Gear

Got a 2001 Tuscan Red Rose. Was told yesterday that my reverse light is on when in 5th gear. Just had new clutch put on, not sure if relevant. Anyone any ideas how to sort this?

I had this with mine some time ago.

You have to remove the gearstick and adjust the reverse light sensor which is located below the gearstick on top of the gearbox. Its a bit fidly and you have to remove the centre armrest console.

As it was so long ago I can't really remember much more ,hopefully someone will be along with somemore detail for you.

If someone has just put a new clutch in take it back and ask them to finish the job correctly. It's one of the basic basic checks before the cars leaves the workshop.

Happened to me when my clutch was changed in the Cerb. 4th gear for me. They have to remove the gearbox to change the clutch. My service place sorted it without charge. Just take it back to where you had your clutch done.

You might want to do it by yourself. It is a straight forward job of approximately 20-30 Minutes. As soon as you spot the reverse light switch (it is no sensor, but a quite solit switch, operated by a small bowl being touched by a metal lever sitting on the lower gearstick...)

A bit of bending of the lever will do the trick. I wanted to take some photographs the last tim I adjusted a switch, but thought it to be unnecessary. Will do next time though.

For information:

If brake light fuse always blows, the reverse light switch has
short circut (is broken).
Reverse light and brake lights are on same fuse!!!!!!!!!!!

Took me a long time to find!
