Hello folks,

Without doing enough research before hand I have puchased a 111s 3 element type diffuser for my S2 02 Elise cabriolet. Without changing the number plate plinth and exhaust surround grills it will not look pretty at all, but after doing a bit more research and working out for myself that the previous are just 'decoration' anyway. Is the Hanger 111 eliminator kit the way forward for this problem? has anyone else fitted it and would recommend. Are there any other alternatives? I have priced up the grills and they are £30 a side, I could make my own plinth but the off-set of time against money I reckon would be hardly worth it.

Hi Jim

Can I ask where you got the diffuer kit from as I really like the look of them and would like to do the same.

Cheers

Do these do anything? I thought unless DTM huge they are "non-functional"?

You mean the eliminator kit or the diffuser itself? The diffusers add a bit of downforce - I seem to remember reading that it's about 50kg at 100mph or something. The panel eliminator kit doesn't do anything except possibly marginally reduce weight.

I was tired of the look of the rear of my car and also it somtimes felt I was sat on a "Magic Carpet" at speed! I looked at the Elise parts 3 element Diffuser @£300 and did some digging and found a bloke who made one out of Fibre glass at half the price.I bought one, the quality of the product is excellent, but I was left with the problem that it does not match my number plate plinth or exhaust surround panels. I was going to make my own but the time it would take me is not worth it. The eliminator kit is available from Hangar 111 @ £150 -ish if you want a contact for the diffuser alone pm me.
After removing the plinth and grills it does add up to a fair bit of weight but I have not received the eliminator kit yet for comaprison of performance or weight.I hope that helps fellasmile

I've been having a play with doing something similar (with the help of Thrustjust on SELOC), see here: http://forums.seloc.org/viewthread.php?tid=225914
