Brake light switch
Discussion
I thought I would brighten up my day by taking the cerb to the hospital where my 10 year old (today!) boy is in following a major op.
I moved the car this am (to take his birthday guitar amp nearer the hospital entrance). anyway I noticed that the brake lights were coming on without brake pedal applied. Didn't have a chance to test fully but does this sound like brake light switch and is it a pain to change?
Thanks

No its easy. Its mounted just above the pedal, have a look, you'll see the white switch there. Its a very common part, easy to get from any motor factors.
It might not be broken, the bracket that holds it might be bent slightly, and you can adjust the switch by screwing its mounting nut to move the switch body in and out.
The switch is held off by the pedal until the press it, when the switch plunger springs out.
