Decat pipe - other changes required?

I've just bought a decat pipe from ACT (I know Clives is nicer but quite a bit more money). Do I need to change the tune resistor as well and if so what do I need to change it to? Is it a problem if I don't change it?

Best off leaving the cat tune resistor in place, will cope perfectly well all else being equal. If your exhaust is sleeved, prepare to be astonished when you start it

No, it'll just be the decat and then removal of the pre-cats over the winter.

i thought you had to remove the pre-cats before you remove the main cat? i thought i read on clives website that to run his de-cat pipe the pre-cats had to be removed 1st?

Have de catted my 500 about 2 months ago..sound graet going to take out pre catts next,,, Need no messing about with runs ~& sounds great

I'm intersted because Clives comes with a tune resistor and the ACT doesn't. I asked if anything else was required and they said no. You can remove the pre-cats but some don't. I was just interested to see what experiences people had and if anybody had changed the resistor.

Can't answer your question, but according to the bible the tune resistor for the cat model is 3,700 - 4,100 Ω and the non-cat models 446 - 494 Ω. No idea if this is relevant to you though.

Whether you need one would depend on what you did with the manifolds i.e. whether you have eliminated the lambda sensors. Without knowing exactly what you're buying your question can't be answered. Hence you need to find out from the supplier to make sure you understand exactly what you're getting and what the implications are for the rest of the vehicle.
