hi does anyone out there know whether my electric windows should work with ignition off. i have serious battery dying problems and cant work out what it can be other than i just noticed windows work with ignition off, could this be the problem
anyhelpful advice would be much appreciated

Has someone retro fitted them and wired up a permanent live??

Check that the 'Door closed' check switch is not broken. If it is the car will think the door is open and keep the electric windows live.

I had dead battery issues on an old Jetta and after weeks of head-scratching found that the 'door close' switch for the boot was knackered.

thanks for all ur replys. just been and checked and they only work when door is open, so im no nearer to solving the problem, i was hoping thats what the problem was. thanks anyway. if anyone knows of anything else that causes dead battery batteries that would be great
